EXPEDITION CRUISES

HURTIGRUTEN

Ever since we set out on our first expedition to Svalbard in 1896, we’ve believed that exploring and learning about our beautiful planet should go hand-in-hand. That’s why our fleet of modern expedition ships is designed to travel to even the most challenging of destinations while providing a comfortable and stylish setting to absorb the wonders of nature.

Hurtigruten Expeditions cruises feature a group of hand-picked experts who make up the Expedition Team, and they’ll deliver fascinating talks and lead guests on shore landings, kayaking excursions, expedition boat adventures and much more. We believe science is key to understanding the world, and that’s why some of our team members are scientists. If our guests want to learn more, our teams are available to help them use the onboard scientific equipment and guide them on Citizen Science projects which help ongoing global research.

What’s more, our commitment to sustainable travel and our mission to help protect the places we visit means our guests help pioneer a greener way of cruising. With diverse and unique expedition cruises to 15 global destinations, and stopping at over 230 ports and landing sites from major cities to isolated islands, we help people to unleash their inner explorer. We advise those who travel on an expedition cruise with us to expect the unexpected and to be prepared for life-changing experiences!

LINDBLAD NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC

Discovery is in the Lindblad DNA. They’ve been at this for 50 years. The collaboration between their masterful Captains and experienced expedition leaders creates unprecedented opportunities for guests.

Lindblad’s teams will do whatever it takes to ensure you unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s manning the spotting scopes all night to ensure a polar bear sighting, orchestrating a landing at an extraordinary wildlife site to coincide with a magnificent sunrise, or sending waitstaff out with gourmet ice cream bars to refresh you as you explore a Polynesia atoll, their commitment creates thrilling moments for you.

Building on a legacy of over 50 years as a leader in responsible travel and sustainability, Lindblad is a 100% carbon neutral company committed to green business operations and preserving our planet for future generations. Lindblad has raised more than $19 million from curious and committed travelers since 1997 to protect the ocean, conserve wildlife, bolster local communities, and enable meaningful scientific research. By bringing travelers face-to-face with wildness and inspiring them to care, Lindblad creates planetary stewards every day

“I see global climate change as the single most important issue of our time. And I want to spark more than just awareness and hope; I want to inspire action. After listening to scientists, educators, politicians, and the voices of young people like Greta Thunberg—and combining these perspectives with what we’re observing in the natural world—I feel compelled to greatly accelerate what I can do personally and professionally to address this issue. This is why, as announced on June 7 (but retroactive to January 1, 2019), Lindblad Expeditions is becoming a carbon neutral travel company."

"We have always had an ethic of conservation across our fleet and offices, but the demand for bigger, bolder, and more sustained efforts to combat global climate change is greater now than ever before.”

VIKING EXPEDITIONS

We are dedicated to providing warm hospitality to our guests and ensuring everyone feels at home on board our ships. Our shore landings invite guests to engage on a deeper level by assisting in fieldwork or interacting in experiential activities. Our expedition ships are optimally sized for expeditions: small enough to navigate remote areas, yet large enough to provide speed, superior handling, and stability in the roughest seas.

Our 2-seater kayaks offer superb stability and are easy to operate.
